Empowering Futures: OLGC at the S6 Cluster ECG Fair 2025
On 4 November 2025, selected Primary 6 students from our school participated in the S6 Cluster Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Fair. As a member of the S6 Cluster group of schools, OLGC played a key role in the planning and execution of this event, ensuring a meaningful and interactive experience for all participants.
The fair was designed to help our P6 students navigate their future aspirations with confidence. A core theme of the event was that "success is defined differently by everyone," encouraging students to reflect on their personal values as they begin to consider their secondary school paths and beyond.
I learned that success is defined differently for everyone, and the activities helped me figure out what success means to me personally. I now have a much clearer idea of the various job pathways I might want to pursue in the future. As a leader, I took the initiative to set a positive example by welcoming students from other schools and starting conversations to help everyone feel included, which led to making many new friends. I also made sure to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions during the sessions, which helped me understand complicated economic concepts much better. Values in Action (VIA): Heart for the Community
At the core of our school’s mission is the belief that character is forged through service. By providing our students with platforms to step outside themselves, we empower them to develop empathy, take ownership of their environment, and understand that even the smallest act of kindness can ignite a ripple of change in the community.
Our students have contributed their hearts and hands through various initiatives. Our P1 and P2 students created personalised Christmas cards and "Joy" virtue bracelets to bring festive cheer and hope to patients undergoing treatment at NKF Dialysis Centre. Our P4 students identified needs within the school and carried improvements to make the environment better for others. They will also share their experience with P3 students to inspire future projects. P5 students worked with their adopted sisters to make handphone charms and cards for nurses at Mount Alvernia Hospital. P6 students reached out to neighbours by gifting handmade crochet coasters to residents around the school.
Through these meaningful acts of service, our students learn that kindness, when shared generously, can brighten lives and strengthen the bonds within our community.
