National Day
Our school celebrated Singapore’s 60th birthday with meaningful activities that inspired gratitude, unity, and hope for our nation’s future.
This year, our school came together to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday in a meaningful and memorable way.
In the lead-up to National Day, students enjoyed exciting recess activities such as National Day Bingo, reflecting on what makes them proud to be Singaporeans, and voting for their favourite National Day songs. During the pre-celebration briefing, our Head and Vice-Head Prefects shared about the NDP theme, “Majulah Singapura”. As we celebrate our nation’s journey, we are reminded to be Pilgrims of Hope — taking small steps each day to make our school, community, and country a better place.
On the actual day, celebrations began with the Observance Ceremony, followed by a special Mass to thank God for our nation on her 60th birthday. One of the highlights was the Adopted Sisters’ Activity – Canvas Printing. To commemorate SG60, students painted important national icons that tell the story of who we are and how far we have come. Each pair of adopted sisters also wrote their heartfelt wishes for Singapore. These artworks came together as a beautiful tapestry of Singapore — unique pieces, just like every Singaporean, united in love for our country.
As part of CCE lessons, students reflected on the values shown by our pioneers in transforming Singapore over the past 60 years. They also imagined the Singapore of tomorrow, drawing their ideas of a future nation that is sustainable, inclusive, and exciting for everyone. From reimagined community spaces to innovative learning environments and transport systems, our students’ creativity showed their hopes for Singapore’s future.
Our SG60 celebration was truly a time of reflection, gratitude, and joy — reminding us of our shared responsibility to continue building a bright future for our nation.
