CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel celebrated its 65th Anniversary with a day of thanksgiving, celebration, and reflection, honouring the school's rich heritage, dedicated staff, and strong community spirit.
This year, CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel joyfully marked its 65th Anniversary with the theme “Celebrating a Legacy of Love and Learning.” It was a day filled with gratitude, cherished memories, and the spirit of togetherness.
The celebration began with a solemn Mass celebrated by Father Benedict, setting a reflective and prayerful tone. This was followed by the presentation of long service and promotion awards, honouring the dedication and commitment of our staff who continue to shape the lives of our students with love and care.
A special video presentation titled “Our Lady of Good Counsel Through the Years” took the community on a journey through the school’s rich history and milestones, reminding all of the strong foundation laid by the IJ Sisters and the many who have served faithfully over the years.
Students then came together in their Adopted Sisters groups to create a vibrant Legacy Collage through drawing and painting, symbolising the bonds of friendship and the shared values of the school. Meanwhile, our esteemed guests—including ex-teachers, staff, IJ Sisters, and IJ Board members—were treated to a warm tea reception in the school library, where laughter and fond memories filled the air as they reminisced about their time in the OLGC family.
It was a truly meaningful day that honoured our past, celebrated the present, and looked ahead with hope and love for the future.
