Pongal Celebration
Our school celebrated Pongal through engaging activities that introduced students to its traditions and cultural significance. The celebration deepened their appreciation of Tamil culture while fostering creativity and learning.
The Pongal celebration at OLGC was a meaningful cultural learning experience. Tamil Language Department teachers set up a traditional Pongal display with ingredients used to prepare the festive dish. Students took part in level-appropriate activities, from identifying ingredients to designing creative versions of Pongal and learning about its history and significance. Through these activities, students built confidence, creativity, and communication skills while deepening their appreciation of Tamil culture and the importance of Pongal.
